Race to the Playoffs: IPL 2026 Qualification Scenarios

The race to playoff of IPL 2026 is completely heated now the points table is changing with every match. Looking at the top of the IPL 2026 points table, Royal Challengers Bengaluru became the first team to qualify for the playoffs on 17th May, defeating PBKS in match 61 of TATA IPL 2026.

Match number 69 decided the fate of the final fourth playoff spot in the IPL 2026 Points Table. Rajasthan defeated MI by 30 runs and secured their place in the playoffs. Fans of each team wanted to see their team in the playoffs, but RCB was the first team to secure its place and stayed at number 1 till the fourth place was declared.

Gujarat Titans (GT) is in the second spot of the IPL 2026 Points Table; their batting and bowling attack both are equally dangerous, and they are a very strong contender to win the IPL 2026 Finals.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is at number 3. They have very good openers who can play at a 200+ strike rate any day. Their key strength is their top order; they are in amazing form, and they can destroy the bowling lineup of any team.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) is the last to qualify, but they are underdogs. They have a strong and balanced team with an ace in the form of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. If he plays for 10-12 overs, then the game is over for any team. Remember, RR was the first team this season that broke the victory juggernaut of PBKS, and they didn’t recover till the last match of their season.

The rest of the teams can pack their bags and go home. The team that disappointed me the most was the Mumbai Indians. According to me, they had the strongest team on paper. Their player totally disappointed Mumbai’s fans. MI has lacked a spark of understanding between players, which ruined their season. Well, best of luck to all other teams; they should come next season now.
